Protect before you share. DocTrace turns PDFs, DOCX files and images into a protected PDF ready to send. Document content is processed on your device and is never uploaded to DocTrace. CHOOSE THE RIGHT LEVEL • Password — require a password to open the protected PDF. • Confidential — add a password plus a visible watermark with recipient and date. • Traceable — add the Confidential protection plus a unique DocTrace ID in multiple parts of the PDF, so a copy can be checked against your local history. LOCAL BY DESIGN • Import PDF, DOCX, JPG and PNG files, plus HEIC when supported by the device. • Preview the result before protection. • Keep the original file unchanged. • Reopen and validate the protected PDF before sharing it. • Keep passwords out of history and remove temporary files after the operation. • Use the system share sheet without creating a DocTrace account. Traceable does not monitor opens, contact a server or report recipient activity. It embeds an identifier that you can verify locally if you later receive a copy. PDF passwords, watermarks and usage restrictions reduce casual access and reuse, but they are not DRM and cannot prevent screenshots, photography or deliberate reconstruction.
